Musketeers Sit in Eighth After Two Rounds
LINCOLN, Neb. – After 36 holes of golf, the Xavier women’s golf team is in eighth place in the Chip-N Club Invitational. The Musketeers are currently 60-over-par as a team after they shot 319-317=636. Sophomore Abby Smith leads the squad with a two-round performance of 75-78=153 (+9) and is tied for ninth place. Senior Breanna Patz opened with an 80 in the morning round then bettered her score with a 78 giving her a 14-over par 158. Patz is currently tied for 24th in the field of 73 competitors. Freshman Shane Crutchfield began her Xavier golf career with a birdie on her first hole of play. Crutchfield is tied for 34th place after she carded a 79-82=161 (+17). Junior Christine Cash fired an 85-79=164 (+20) and sits tied for 41st. Junior Kristin Tan rounds out the team with an 89-93=182 (+38) and is tied for 70th. Amy Anderson of North Dakota State is atop the leader board with a score of 147 (+3). Missouri leads the field with a team score of 611 (+35).
