Musketeers Drop to Third in Second Day of CAA's

April 21, 2007

RICHMOND, Va. - Day two of the CAA Women's Championship saw Xavier drop in the overall standings to a tie for third place with Richmond (+53).  UNC-Wilmington continues their stay in first place, widening the gap to 22 strokes over second place Georgia State.  Junior Diana Torry had the best round of the day with a six-over 78 at the Homestead Resort.

UNC-Wilmington's Carmen Perez-Narbon, the CAA Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year, shot the only under-par round of the day (-1) to rocket herself into a tie for first place with her teammate Ashley Tait.  Torry was the only Musketeer to improve on her total from the day before, shaving five strokes off her first round 83 to improve to 21st place.

Senior Kara Manis dropped to 13th place (+13) from her second place position from the day before after carding a second-round 81.  Senior Kathleen Hardy, freshman Mary Beth McKenna, and sophomore Lindsay Cornell all shot eight-over par 80's for their second round.  Hardy stands tied for 13th with Manis, McKenna is a stroke back by herself in 16th, and Cornell's pair of 80's for the tournament so far earn her a tie for 18th place overall.

The final round of play is set to begin at 9 a.m. Sunday morning.
