Second Round

CHANDLER, Ariz.- The Xavier women’s golf team shot a 304 second round to give them a tournament total of 602 (+26) at the 2012 Wyoming Cowgirl Classic. The Musketeers dropped to sixth place out of 24 teams, but are only three strokes behind three other schools. Sophomore Christine Cash is tied for fifth with a 3-over-par 147 (70-77).

Cash ranks tied for fifth with a 4.05 scoring average on par-4 and ranks tied for third in the field with 26 pars for the tournament. Senior Michelle Winkler and junior Breanna Patz are each tied for 11th place with a score of 148 (+4). Winkler is two-under-par on the course’s par-5 which ranks tied for second best.

Sophomore Kristin Tan improved her first round score by shooting a 78, giving her a tournament total of 159 and places her tied for 90th. Alexandra Lake shot an 83 and sits tied for 112th with a score of 167 (+23). Abby Smith and Ariel McNair both shot an 80 in the second round, giving them both a total of 157 and tied for 77th place.

Colorado State took over the top spot on the second day with a team total of 584 (+8) while Brianna Espinoza of CSU leads the field with an 8-under-par 136.
