The Musketeers will try to separate themselves from the pack tomorrow in Chandler, Ariz.

CHANDLER, Ariz. – The Xavier women’s golf team concluded the first round of the 2013 Wyoming Cowgirl Classic today tied for seventh place with a team score of 325 (+37). The Musketeers are tied with Montana, Sacramento State, and Eastern Michigan, and are only separated by five strokes with the fourth place team. Ariel McNair fired a team-low 80 (+8) in the first round and currently sits tied for 23rd.
All five Musketeers carded scores lower than 85 at the par 72 Ocotillo Golf Resort. Freshman Shane Crutchfield and sophomore Abby Smith each posted an 81 (+9) and tied for 33rd place. Breanna Patz finished the day with a score of 83 (+11) and is sitting tied for 48th place. Christine Cash rounded out the team with a 12-over-par 84 and is tied for the 59th spot.
Boise State currently leads the field with a score of 307 (+19) and Haley Young of the Broncos has a tournament-low 71 (-1) for the first day of competition.
