RICHMOND, Ky. - Junior Abby Smith (Frankfort, Ky./Franklin County High School) led the Xavier women's golf team in its final round on Saturday by shooting four-over 76, giving the Musketeers third place at the two-day Colonel Classic hosted by Eastern Kentucky.

EKU took the team title with a two-day score of 616, six shots better than Morehead State's 622. Xavier's 628 was good for third place and Marshall took fourth with a two-round total of 634.

Senior Ariel McNair (Aurora, Ohio/Walsh Jesuit) shot 77 to finish in 11th place, while Christine Cash (Paducah, Ky./Heath High School) fired a six-over 78 to tie for 12th place.

Sophomore Shane Crutchfield (St. Petersburg, Fla./St. Petersburg) carded an 83, after an opening round 78, to finish tied for 28th place, while freshman Grace Howie (Calgary, Alberta, Canada/The Edge School) rounded out the Blue and White's scorecard, turning in a 10-over 82 (t-57th).  

Freshman Rachel Johnson (Nashville, Tenn./Franklin Road Academy) and senior Kristin Tan (Seattle, Wash./Holy Names Academy), competing as individuals, registered second-round scores of 87 (t-57th) and 83 (t-57th), respectively.

The Musketeers will now prepare for the 2014 BIG EAST Championship in Daytona Beach, Fla. The event will be held April 17-19.
