Manis Leads Women's Golf at Pinehurst Challenge

PINEHURST, N.C. - Junior Kara Manis fired a three-round total of 233 (+17) including a 6-over par 278 in the third round to lead the Xavier women's golf to a 16th place finish at the Pinehurst Challenge. The Musketeers finished with a three-round of 979 (+15) at the par-72, 5,954-yard Pinehurst No. 8. Maryland won the event as the Terrapins carded a 53-over par 917 for the three-day event.

Manis fired the low round of the tournament for XU with a 3-over par 75 on day one en route to finishing a 17-over par 233, which was good enough for a tie for 14th place. Freshman Lindsay Cornell carded her best round of the event on Tuesday with a 77 (+5) to finish with a 23-over par 239. Diana Torry turned in rounds of 76-80-92 for a three-round total of 248 (+32) while sophomore Erin Gore carded a 259 (+43) after rounds of 87-86-86.

The women's golf team will be back in action on Monday, March 20 when the Musketeers will travel to Citrus Springs, Fla. for the Lady Herd/El Diablo Invitational.
