Women's Golf Wraps Up Spring Break With Eighth Place Finish at Rio Verde Invitational

RIO VERDE, Ariz.- The Xavier women’s golf team earned eighth place at the Duramede Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational held March 5-7. Mary Beth McKenna was back in usual form finishing as the top Musketeer. McKenna tied for 26th place after firing rounds of 76-78-78—232 (+19).


Xavier as a team shot rounds of 306-302-321—929 (+77) at the par 71 6,229 yard Quail Run Golf Course. Michigan, Minnesota and Eastern Michigan were the top three teams.


Junior Audrey Fellmeth and rookie Breanna Patz finished one stroke behind McKenna and tied for 28th. Fellmeth shot rounds of 77-77-79 and Patz scored rounds of 78-71-84 to finish 20-over par.


Michelle Winkler finished 22-over par to tie for 37th place with rounds of 79-76-80. Rachel Levi finished the invitational shooting 28-over par.
