Women's Golf and Kara Manis Finish Seventh at the Campbell Collegiate

BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Senior Kara Manis carded the second best round of the day, but the Xavier women's golf team failed to change their standings from the first round, finishing in a tie for seventh with Richmond. Both Doubling their lead from the day before, host team XU was led by Kara Manis' two-over final round, the best round by a Musketeer so far this spring season. Manis cracked the top ten, finishing in a tie for seventh place (+9, 153). Six shots back from Kara Manis was freshman Mary Beth McKenna, who seems to be trading the team lead back and forth with Manis. McKenna's 81 in the final round dropped her into a tie for 19th at 15-over. Playing as an individual, senior Kathleen Hardy completed her first tournament of the season, finishing as the third-best Musketeer with an 18-over par 162 and a tie for 33rd for the two-day event. Sophomore Lindsay Cornell finished her round with a 13-over par 85, dropping her into a tie at 42nd after her strong first-day start. Two strokes behind her in a tie for 52nd was junior Diana Torry at +22 for the tournament. Freshman Lindsay Steiner concluded play for the Musketeers, shooting a 25-over par 169 in her two rounds.
