UP NEXT
Following Sunday afternoon’s matchup at Wright State, the Blue and White will return to Cintas Center to host Cincinnati for the Crosstown Classic on Dec. 21 (2 p.m.). The Bearcats, who have dropped four consecutive Crosstown Classic’s to XU and are members of the newly-formed American Athletic Conference, turned in a 12-18 overall (4-12 BIG EAST) last season. Cincinnati, leaders in the all-time series with Xavier (23-13), are led by junior guard Dayeesha Hollins, who is a back-to-back All-BIG EAST Second Team selection and is averaging 12.6 points and 3.4 rebounds in 24.4 minutes per contest.

Over the last eight seasons (261 games), Xavier has made at least one three-pointer in 260 contests, including 38 straight (dating back to the 2012-13 season). The last time the Musketeers didn’t knock down a three in the last eight seasons was March 2, 2012 vs La Salle in the 2012 A-10 Tournament. During the current 38-game run, the Blue and White have knocked down 204 money balls while their opponents have knocked down 200 threes.

Shatyra Hawkes, Ashley Wanninger and Jenna Crittendon have combined to account for 61.2 percent (42.3 points per game) of Xavier’s scoring. The trio is also shooting .392 (122-of-311) from the floor and .327 (49-of-150) from long distance.

Sophomore Jenna Crittendon helped lead the Musketeers to a 2-0 record last week and for her performances, she claimed her first career College Sports Madness BIG EAST Player of the Week honor on Monday, Dec. 9.

Crittendon earned CSM BIG EAST Player of the Week accolades after averaging 16.5 points, 10.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists in the Blue and White’s two contests. The sophomore also shot 40 percent (12-of-30) from the field and knocked down four triples.

Xavier owns an 84-59 record away from Cintas Center since 2002-03, including 52-28 (.650) in conference road games.
