Junior Ty O'Neill leads the team with 16 assists in her first three games as a Musketeer

CINCINNATI - In its second game in three days, the Xavier women's basketball team is set to play host to Morehead State Wednesday night at Cintas Center. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. Thanksgiving Eve. It's canned food night - bring a canned food item for donation and receive a $5 ticket for admission.
About the Musketeers
Xavier (2-1) is coming off a convincing 77-48 win over High Point Monday night at home in its first of three games this week. The Musketeers rank in the top six teams in the Atlantic 10 in several categories including: fourth in scoring offense (67.0), field goal percentage (.439) and assists (15.4), fifth in free throw percentage (.759) and sixth in scoring margin (+9.7), 3-point field goal percentage (.342), rebounding defense (35.0), rebounding margin (+6.0), blocked shots (4.3) and assist/turnover ratio (0.8).
XU is led by junior guard Shatyra Hawkes with 13.0 ppg. (14th A-10) and ranks tied for sixth in the league with 5.3 apg. Senior Jessica Pachko is averaging a double-double for the Musketeers with 10.0 ppg. and 10.0 rpg. while senior Amber Gray also averages 10.0 ppg. and a team-high .889 free throw percentage (7th A-10). Junior Ty O'Neill is dishing out a team-high 5.3 apg. (t-4th A-10) and has tallied five steals.
Scouting Morehead State
Morehead State (1-2) is coming off back-to-back games this past weekend in Preseason WNIT action at home. The Eagles went 1-1, defeating Kennesaw State, 50-49, and falling to Northern Illinois, 76-46. As a team, MSU shoots 34.5 percent from the field and the Eagles struggle on the boards grabbing 73 rebounds to their opponents' 114 (-13.7 rebounding margin).
MSU is led by Terrice Robinson with 14.4 ppg. and a .824 free throw percentage. Casey Ryans is hauling in a team-best 5.0 boards per contest while Almesha Jones leads the Eagles in apg. (2.3), spg. (2.3) and 3-point field goal percentage (.500).
Xavier and Morehead State have previously met eight times and the all-time series is knotted at four apiece. The Musketeers have won four straight against the Eagles including XU's 71-66 victory on Dec. 6, 2011 in Cintas Center.
Last Time Out
The Musketeers had four players in double-figures scoring, including a season-high 14 points from senior Amber Gray, in their 77-48 win over the visiting High Point Panthers Monday night. Senior Jessica Pachko recorded her first double-double of the season with 10 points and 12 rebounds while junior Shatyra Hawkes also chipped in 14 points. Freshman Briana Glover scored a career-high 10 points and junior Ty O'Neill dished out a career-high eight assists on the night.
