CINCINNATI - Sophomore star Ta'Shia Phillips has been honored as the player of the week by the Atlantic 10 Conference for her efforts in leading the No. 22 Xavier University women's basketball team to a 2-0 week. Phillips, who earned a record-tying 12 A-10 Rookie of the Week awards last season, earns her first Player of the Week nod.

Phillips averaged 18.0 points, 13.0 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game in a 2-0 week for the Musketeers and also shot a blistering 72.7 percent from the floor. The Indianapolis native scored 25 points and hauled in 12 rebounds in only 26 minutes of action in Xavier's season-opening 79-49 win on Nov. 14 and followed that with an 11-point, 14-rebound performance in Xavier's 62-59 win at Indiana on Nov. 16.

XU will now play in the Preseason WNIT semifinal on Wednesday at No. 4/6 North Carolina. Phillips now has 20 double-doubles in her career.
