CINCINNATI – Xavier University will host its annual Skyline Chili Musketeer Madness on Friday, October 25 at Cintas Center. Musketeer Madness is the tip-off event for fans as the men’s and women’s basketball teams gear up for the 2013-14 season, Xavier’s inaugural season in the BIG EAST Conference.  This year will have an added flair as portions of the program will be shown on FOX Sports 1 as part of the network’s BIG EAST Tip-Off Party.

The event is free to the public and features a Fan Fest on the Plaza in front of Cintas Center starting at 5:30 p.m. Activities include inflatable games for kids, corn hole and much more! Skyline Chili and Trauth Dairy/Dean Foods will be on hand to serve Cincinnati's favorite chili and ice cream, and FOX Sports Ohio will also be at the event with promotional giveaways and activities.

The madness will continue inside Cintas Center at 7:00 p.m. as both basketball teams will be introduced and be followed by skills competitions and conclude with an intra-squad scrimmage for both teams. The slam dunk contest returns this year as well. The Xavier pep band and cheerleaders will also be on hand to help kick off the season during Family Weekend for Xavier University. The first 500 Xavier students will again be extra-close to the excitement and on the floor next to the action.

There will be plenty of special giveaways at the event. FOX Sports 1 will give away co-branded foam fingers to the first 1,000 Xavier students and kids 17 & under. A special BIG EAST Tip-Off Party t-shirt will be distributed to the first 1,500 fans ages 17 & over.

FOX Sports 1 will capture the energy and excitement surrounding the start of the new college basketball season with coverage from all 10 BIG EAST campuses during the BIG EAST TIP-OFF PARTY on Friday, Oct. 25, from 9:00-11:00 p.m. ET. Xavier head coach Chris Mack will be among those interviewed during the broadcast.
