@Xavier_WBB Grad Ashley Wanninger Wins National Hazing Prevention Week Poster Contest
June 9, 2014
CINCINNATI - HazingPrevention.org (HPO) announced that recent graduate Ashley Wanninger (Cincinnati, Ohio/Colerain) is the winner of their 2014 National Hazing Prevention Week Poster Contest.
"I'm extremely happy that I had the opportunity to enter my design into this contest on behalf of Xavier SAAC," said Wanninger. "Xavier University is a place of strong characteristics and good decision making and it is an honor for us to be recognized."
This year's entries were judged on an original poster on hazing prevention with the theme "Challenge Hazing, Challenge Yourself". The contest attracted entries from creative and talented college and university students from across the country. Entries included how students spread awareness about hazing prevention throughout colleges and universities.
Xavier's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) represents the leadership body of student-athletes on campus. The committee submitted a series of three posters with the theme Know. See. Decide. All three posters will be featured on the HazingPrevention.org website for downloads for this fall's National Hazing Prevention Week.
Wanninger played in 112 games, making 79 starts, for the Blue and White and finished her career as a Musketeer with 753 points and 146 made three-point field goals. An art major that earned her degree in May, Wanninger has been heavily involved in community service initiatives while at Xavier and also worked for Xavier's Athletic Communications office.
