Senior Tyeasha Moss earned A-10 All-Conference Third Team honors

PHILADELPHIA - The ninth-seeded Xavier women's basketball team is set to kick off its 17th-consecutive Atlantic 10 Championship appearance with a Friday match-up against No. 8 La Salle. Tip-off is set for 11:30 a.m. at Saint Joseph's Hagan Arena in the first game of the tournament. All first round and quarterfinals action will be streamed live through www.atlantic10.com.
About the Musketeers
Xavier (8-19, 5-9 A-10) finished out the regular season with a 70-61 win over visiting Massachusetts on Senior Day, Feb. 26, as three Musketeers scored in double-figures. XU ranks second in the Atlantic 10 in defensive rebounds (27.2), fourth in rebounding offense (38.5), fifth in defensive rebounding percentage (.682) and sixth in rebounding margin (+2.8).
The Musketeers are led by senior guard Tyeasha Moss with 13.6 ppg. (8th A-10) while junior forward Jessica Pachko is the team's leading rebounder, grabbing 8.1 boards per contest (4th A-10). Pachko's 51.0 field goal percentage is sixth-best in the league and she leads the conference in defensive rebounds with 6.0 per game. Sophomore guard Shatyra Hawkes' 3.4 apg. ranks seventh in the league and her 82.9 free throw percentage is seventh in the A-10.
Scouting La Salle
La Salle (13-16, 7-7 A-10) was tripped up, 71-44, by Temple Feb. 25 on the Explorers' Senior Day. Jordan Mosley had a team-high 12 points and four rebounds for La Salle. The Explorers rank third in the Atlantic 10 in offensive rebounding percentage (.376), fifth in blocked shots (3.3) and offensive rebounds (14.0) and sixth in steals (7.9).
The Explorers are led by Brittany Wilson with 13.6 ppg. (9th A-10) and 1.9 spg. (t-5th A-10). Ruvanna Campbell is the team's leading rebounder with 8.0 rpg. (5th A-10) while Nadia Duncan's .545 field goal percentage ranks second in the league. Campbell also leads the team with 1.5 bpg. (5th A-10).
Scouting St. Bonaventure
St. Bonaventure (27-2, 14-0 A-10) capped off its undefeated conference season with a 58-32 win at Rhode Island on Feb. 25. SBU secured the No. 1 seed in the league tourney and a first-round bye. St. Bona leads the A-10 in scoring defense (53.0) and field goal percentage defense (.363) and ranks second in scoring margin (+11.2), free throw percentage (.754) and 3-point field goal percentage (.373).
The Bonnies are led by Jessica Jenkins with 14.3 ppg. (5th A-10) and league-leading .967 free throw percentage. Jenkins' 3.2 made 3-pointers per game is best in the A-10. Megan Van Tatenhove shoots 49.8 percent from the field (8th A-10) and averages 13.3 ppg. (11th A-10).
