The No. 6 ranked Xavier women’s basketball team and TriHealth will team up in the WBCA Pink Zone game on Saturday, February 20.  Game time is set for 1 p.m. as the Musketeers take on Atlantic 10 opponent, University of Massachusetts at Cintas Center.  Senior Day ceremonies will also take place following the game.

TriHealth and the Musketeers encourage fans to wear pink!  At this year’s game, a limited edition “Xavier Dominates Breast Cancer” shirt will be available for a $10 donation.  Proceeds will benefit the TriHealth Mobile Mammography Project.  Fans can also make a donation to the cause by picking up a “Three Point Attack On Breast Cancer” pledge form and making a donation for every three point shot that the Musketeers make during the game.  Click here to download a pledge form.  Flat donations will also be accepted.

The Musketeers will be wearing special pink uniforms in recognition of the fight against breast cancer.  Those uniforms will then be auctioned off following the game on GoXavier.com.

TriHealth and other cancer awareness groups will be on the concourse during pre-game with special giveaways and handouts.  TriHealth will feature a prize wheel that fans can spin for the chance to win various prizes.  During the game, breast cancer survivors will be honored and breast cancer statistics will be played on the video board to help increase the awareness about this disease.

Fans will also receive pink ribbons courtesy of the American Cancer Society and the Xavier Colleges Against Cancer group.

Tickets are just $8 for adults and $5 for youth (17 & under).  Advanced group rates are also available for groups of 15 or more for just $4 each and include a variety of group opportunities.  Tickets can be purchased at the Xavier Athletic Ticket Office (in advance or on game day) or online at www.ticketmaster.com.  For group tickets, please call 513-745-3389.

The WBCA began the WBCA Pink Zone®, formerly known as "Think Pink", in 2007 as an initiative to raise breast cancer awareness in women's basketball, on campuses and in communities. Kay Yow, former North Carolina State University head women's basketball coach, served as the catalyst for the initiative after her third reoccurrence of breast cancer in 2006. In 2007, more than 120 schools unified for this effort and helped make the inaugural year a success. In 2008, over 1,200 teams and organizations participated, reaching over 830,000 fans and raising over $930,000 for breast cancer awareness and research. The 2009 campaign raised over $1.3 million, reached over 912,000 fans, unified more than 1,600 participating teams and organizations, and saw 56+ schools break attendance records at their event.
