CINCINNATI - The No. 7/6 Xavier women's basketball team is looking to remain perfect in Atlantic 10 action Saturday as it welcomes Fordham to Cintas Center. Tip off is set for 2 p.m. between the Musketeers and Rams.

About the Musketeers
No. 7/6 Xavier (20-2, 9-0 A-10) has matched its season-opening 10-game winning streak and has won 24 straight Atlantic 10 regular season games with a 79-57 win at Richmond on Feb. 9. As a team, XU leads the Atlantic 10 with a .455 field goal percentage (16th NCAA) and also ranks first in scoring margin (+18.7 - 11th NCAA), assists (17.2 - 14th NCAA), assist/turnover ratio (1.1 - 12th NCAA) and attendance (2,485).

Three Musketeers are averaging double-figures scoring, including redshirt senior Amber Harris who ranks third in the A-10 with 18.4 ppg. and second in the league with 10.0 rpg. Senior Ta’Shia Phillips also averages a double-double with 15.5 ppg. and 12.7 rpg. (1st A-10, 2nd NCAA) and junior Tyeasha Moss is scoring 10.2 ppg. Senior Special Jennings loves to pass the ball and her 5.2 apg. is tops in the conference. She takes good care of the rock too - her 2.3 assist/turnover ratio is best in the A-10 and 14th in the nation.

Scouting Fordham
Fordham (10-15, 2-7 A-10) is suffering through a five-game losing streak and the Rams have lost seven of their last eight contests. FOR dropped a 54-47 decision against Saint Joseph’s at home on Wednesday as Kyara Weekes led the Rams with 12 points. Fordham ranks third in the conference in three-point field goal percentage defense (.292), having given up 203 made three-pointers this season.



The Rams are led by Becky Peters, one of three that is averaging double figures scoring for Fordham, with 13.2 ppg. Peters is also the team’s steals leader with 1.8 thefts per contest and has made a team-best 49 three-point baskets. Also for the Rams, Caitlin Shadbolt puts up 11.0 ppg. while Tiffany Stokes adds 10.3 ppg. and grabs a team-high 7.6 boards per game as well.

The Series
The first meeting between Xavier and Fordham was Dec. 28, 1983 as the Rams claimed the three-point, 79-76 victory. The last time the two met was just under a year ago on Feb. 28, 2010 as the Musketeers picked up a 74-59 win in Bronx, N.Y. Xavier leads the all-time series, 17-2, and has not lost to Fordham since Jan, 25, 1997 (60-55).
