Women's Hoops Headed to Dayton for Tussle with the Flyers

CINCINNATI- The Xavier women's basketball team will make the short trip up Interstate 75 to the University of Dayton Thursday to take on the 15th-ranked Flyers in Atlantic 10 action. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. at UD Arena.

About the Musketeers The Musketeers are led by senior Amber Gray who averages 10.8 ppg. while shooting 44.9 percent from the field and 77.9 percent from the line (6th A-10). Junior Shatyra Hawkes dishes out a team-best 3.6 apg. (9th A-10) and holds a 1.3 assist/turnover ratio (9th A-10) and senior Jessica Pachko grabs a team-best 6.6 rpg. (14th A-10) and shoots at a 51.8 clip. Junior Ashley Wanninger sinks 36.1 percent of her shots from behind the arc (9th A-10) and averages 2.0 3-point baskets per contest (7th A-10).
Scouting Dayton Dayton (19-1, 7-0 A-10) picked up a 72-64 win at Richmond on Sunday, its seventh-straight since dropping its only loss of the season at Bowling Green on Dec. 30. The Flyers had four players in double-figures scoring, including Olivia Applewhite with a game high 18 points and a game-high-tying 11 rebounds. UD leads the A-10 in several categories: scoring offense (78.8), scoring margin (+22.3), field goal percentage (.454), field goal percentage defense (.339), 3-point field goal percentage (.342), 3-point field goals made (7.0), rebounding margin (+9.2) and assists (18.4). The Flyers are led by Ally Malott with 11.9 rpg. (14th A-10) and 7.1 rpg. (11th A-10) while Amber Deane boasts the league's best field goal percentage (.580). Also for UD, Samantha MacKay dishes out 5.4 apg. (2nd A-10), 2.3 spg. (7th A-10) and holds a 2.2 assist/turnover ratio (2nd A-10).
