CINCINNATI - The Xavier women's basketball team will square off against Atlantic 10 foe Saint Louis Thursday night in the first of two home games this week. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. at XU's Cintas Center.
About the Musketeers
Xavier (6-13, 0-5 A-10) is currently suffering through a seven-game losing streak after dropping a 73-63 overtime loss at Richmond on Sunday, the team's longest losing streak of the season. As a team, XU ranks in the top four teams in the Atlantic 10 in several categories: second in defensive rebounds (27.9) and defensive rebounding percentage (.725), third in rebounding defense (35.4) and fourth in rebounding offense (39.7) and rebounding margin (+4.3).
The Musketeers are led by senior Amber Gray who averages 10.9 ppg. while shooting 43.9 percent from the field and 76.8 percent from the line (7th A-10). Junior Shatyra Hawkes dishes out a team-best 3.5 apg. (9th A-10) and holds a 1.3 assist/turnover ratio (10th A-10) and sophomore Lakeisha Crouch grabs a team-best 6.1 rpg. (20th A-10). Junior Ashley Wanninger sinks 36.1 percent of her shots from behind the arc (8th A-10) and averages 2.1 3-point baskets per contest (5th A-10).
Scouting Saint Louis
Saint Louis (8-12, 2-3 A-10) has dropped three of its last four games, including most recently a 71-54 loss to Charlotte at home on Sunday. Desirae Ball led the Bilikens with 18 points while Lorreal Jones had 14 points and 13 rebounds. SLU ranks first in the Atlantic 10 in rebounding defense (33.3), third in defensive rebound percentage (71.8) and fifth in rebound margin (+3.2).
The Bilikens are led by Jones with 12.0 ppg. (14th A-10), 8.1 rpg. (7th A-10), .488 field goal percentage (4th A-10). Jacy Bradley averages a team-high 4.8 apg. (5th A-10) and has an assist/
turnover ratio of 1.6 (6th A-10). Courtney Webb is the Bilikens' long range shooter, shooting 31.5 percent from 3-point range and is averaging 9.1 ppg, second on the team.
The Musketeers and Bilikens have previously met 22 times with XU holding the 16-6 advantage in the all-time series. The two last met in Cincinnati on Feb. 1, 2012 as Xavier claimed the 67-57 win over Saint Louis in Cintas Center. The Musketeers have won 14 straight games against the Bilikens.

Four players scored in double figures and three Musketeers recorded double-doubles Sunday afternoon at Richmond. Junior Ashley Wanninger lead the way with 15 points and 12 rebounds and senior Amber Gray had a career-high 16 rebounds with 10 points. Wanninger was nearly perfect from the charity stripe shooting 10-of-11. Senior Jessica Pachko netted 13 points while pulling down 11 boards. Freshman Aliyah Zantt was the fourth in double-figures scoring with 10 points on 4-of-13 shooting from the floor. The team shot 36.7 percent from the floor but went over seven minutes to close the second half without a field goal.
