PITTSBURGH - Senior All-American candidate Tara Boothe has been honored as the Atlantic 10 Conference Player of the Week for her efforts in leading the Xavier women's basketball team to a 1-1 week. Boothe earns the honor for the third time this season and the seventh time in her career.

Boothe averaged 25 points per game and nine rebounds per game last week and broke Xavier's all-time scoring record in front of a national television audience vs. No. 21 Temple on January 22. Boothe scored 30 points vs. the Owls and followed that performance up with a 20-point nine rebound effort on Friday, January 27 at St. Bonaventure.

Boothe currently leads the A-10 in scoring at 20.8 points per game and also tops the league in field goal percentage at 52 percent. She is also fifth in rebounding at 8.3 rebounds per game.

Boothe is currently in second place on XU's all-time rebounding list with 883 career rebounds, 86 shy of Lynn Bihn's school record.

Xavier returns to action on Sunday, January 29 when the team takes on Duquesne. Game time is set for 2:05 p.m. at the Dukes' A.J. Palumbo Center.
