XU looking for first A-10 road win at Richmond Sunday

CINCINNATI - The Xavier women's basketball team is traveling to Richmond, Va., Sunday afternoon for a match-up with Atlantic 10 foe Richmond. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. at UR's Robins Center and the game will be broadcast live on CBS Sports Network.
About the Musketeers
Xavier (6-12, 0-4 A-10) is currently suffering through a six-game losing streak after dropping a 48-41 loss to Fordham at home on Wednesday, the team's longest losing streak of the season. As a team, XU ranks in the top six teams in the Atlantic 10 in several categories: second in defensive rebounds (27.3), third in rebounding defense (35.4), fifth in rebounding margin (+3.6) and sixth in field goal percentage (.368) and rebounding offense (39.0).
The Musketeers are led by senior Amber Gray who averages 10.9 ppg. while shooting 43.4 percent from the field and 76.7 percent from the line (7th A-10). Junior Shatyra Hawkes dishes out a team-best 3.6 apg. (9th A-10) and holds a 1.3 assist/turnover ratio (10th A-10) and sophomore Lakeisha Crouch grabs a team-best 6.5 rpg. (17th A-10). Junior Ashley Wanninger sinks 36.7 percent of her shots from behind the arc (8th A-10) and averages 2.1 3-point baskets per contest (5th A-10).
Richmond (11-9, 1-3 A-10) has dropped three of its last four games, including most recently a close 52-49 loss to Saint Louis at home on Wednesday. Kristina King led the Spiders with 13 points and six rebounds in the loss. UR ranks fourth in the Atlantic 10 in scoring offense (62.1), free throw percentage (.722), field goal percentage (.404) and defensive rebounds (26.4).
The Spiders are led by King with 13.0 ppg. (11th A-10), 2.1 spg. (10th A-10), .394 field goal percentage (15th A-10) and an .813 free throw percentage (4th A-10). Becca Wann is the team's leading rebounder with 7.8 boards per game (8th A-10) and Liz Brown swats a team-high 1.6 shots per contest (7th A-10). Rachael Bilney is the team's best long-distance shooter, shooting 38.1 percent from 3-point range (4th A-10) and averaging 2.2 3-pointers per game (4th A-10).
The Musketeers and Spiders have previously met 16 times with XU holding the 10-6 advantage in the all-time series. The two last met in Cincinnati on Feb. 15, 2012 as Xavier claimed the 76-60 win over Richmond in Cintas Center. The Musketeers have won nine straight games against the Spiders.

Freshman Briana Glover scored nearly half of the team's entire point total with a career-high 20 points Wednesday night against the visiting Fordham Rams. Glover was 7-of-16 from the floor and sank all four of her free throw attempts for the Musketeers. Senior Amber Gray chipped in 12 points and grabbed a team-high-tying eight rebounds while freshman Aliyah Zantt dished out three assists on the night. The team shot 82.4 percent from the line but was a dismal 25.0 percent from the floor.
