CINCINNATI - The Xavier women's basketball team is set to kickoff the 2013 Atlantic 10 schedule against Duquesne on Sunday. Tip-off between the Musketeers and Dukes is set for 2 p.m. at XU's Cintas Center.

Xavier Women Falter at Duquesne, 68-49, in A-10 Action
Despite keeping it close early into the second half, the Xavier women's basketball team faltered at Duquesne Wednesday night, 68-49. Xavier was led by junior Jessica Pachko with 12 points and a game-high 11 rebounds, her sixth double-double of the season.

About the Musketeers
Xavier (6-8) is coming off a 68-62 loss to Ohio on Jan. 5, its second-straight loss in as many games. The Musketeers have four players averaging nine-plus points per game and three players averaging six-plus rebounds per game. As a team, XU ranks in the top seven among teams in the Atlantic 10 including: fifth in rebounding offense (39.7) and defense (36.0)and rebounding margin (+3.7), sixth in scoring offense (62.7) and seventh in free throw percentage (.709).

The Musketeers are led by senior Amber Gray with 10.1 ppg. and junior Shatyra Hawkes with 10.0 ppg. Gray makes 35.7 percent of her shots from long range and boasts a .754 free throw percentage (9th A-10) while Hawkes leads the team with 3.8 apg. (9th A-10). Senior Jessica Pachko sinks 50 percent of her field goals while junior Ashley Wanninger averages 2.1 3-point baskets per contest (t-4th A-10).

Scouting Duquesne
Duquesne (11-3) is currently suffering a two-game losing skid, including its 54-49 loss to Miami (Ohio) at home on Jan. 5. DUQ's Wumi Agunbiade led the team with a game-high 17 points to go with eight rebounds in the loss. As a team, the Dukes rank first in the Atlantic 10 in scoring defense (50.7), 3-point field goal percentage defense (.232), steals (13.6) and turnover margin (+7.4).

The Dukes are led by Agunbiade with 12.6 ppg. (14th A-10) and 7.7 rpg. (11th A-10). Jocelyn Floyd dishes out a team-best 2.9 apg. (15th A-10) and tallies 5.1 spg. (1st A-10, 1st NCAA) while Belma Nurkic makes a team-high 1.8 3-point shots per game (t-10th A-10).

The Series
The Musketeers and Dukes have previously met 30 times in the all-time series between the two programs, with Xavier holding the 22-8 advantage. Duquesne snapped Xavier's nine-game winning streak last season with its 68-49 victory in Pittsburgh. XU has won nine of the last 10 and 11 of the last 14 meetings.

Last Time Out
Xavier returned home for its first game of the new year, a 68-62 loss to the visiting Bobcats of Ohio University on Jan. 5. Senior Jessica Pachko led the Musketeers, posting her third double-double of the season with a season-high-tying 15 points and 10 rebounds. Freshman Aliyah Zantt also posted double-figures scoring with 11 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the floor. Freshman Jenna Crittendon chipped in eight points and grabbed six rebounds in the loss for XU.
