CINCINNATI- The Xavier women's basketball team suffered a 64-38 loss to Temple Tuesday night at Cintas Center. Junior forward Jessica Pachko led Xavier scorers with 12 points and corralled six rebounds.

Xavier fell to 3-15 on the season and 0-5 in the Atlantic 10. The Musketeers have now extended their losing streak to 11 games. Temple improved to 11-8 and 4-1 in the A-10.

This was Pachko's fifth-consecutive game in double-figures. Senior Tyeasha Moss added 10 points and four assists in the Musketeer defeat. Sophomore Shatyra Hawkes knocked down two treys for a game total of six points and contributed four assists in 39 minutes. Sophomore Ashley Wanninger had a career-high seven rebounds.

Xavier had a season-high 26 turnovers and set a new season-low in points scored in the second half. This was the least total points (38) scored in the past 10 seasons for Xavier.

Xavier shot 34.9 percent (15-of-43) from the field while Temple shot 47.3 percent (26-of-55). XU was able to out-rebound the Owls 31-30.

Xavier trailed Temple 27-19 heading into the locker rooms at halftime. Pachko led Xavier scorers in the first half with six points and five boards. The 19 points was the lowest the Musketeers had scored in the first half since their loss to Louisville on November 20, when they scored only 12 points.

XU was struggling to find its offense in the first half. Xavier committed 14 first half turnovers and only scored seven field goals. The Musketeers were held without a field goal for over five minutes midway through the half. The scoreless drought ended when Moss dropped a long range trey.

Temple shot 50 percent (13-of-26) from the field in the first half while Xavier shot 33.3 percent (7-of-21). XU was 3-of-7 (42.9 percent) from behind the arc while TU shot 50 percent. The Musketeer's won the battle of the boards in the first period with 14 rebounds to Owls' 13.

Shey Peddy of Temple had a game-high 19 points off of 7-of-9 shooting from the field.
