Harris' 18 came on 7-of-20 shooting and she also recorded two steals in 37 minutes of action. Junior forward Tudy Reed and sophomore forward April Phillips each chipped in with nine points while freshman center Ta'Shia Phillips scored seven points and hauled in nine boards against the Colonials. Reed also tied her career high with three assists. Sophomore forward Maureen Hester did not score but she was able to snare eight rebounds against GW's rugged frontline. GW stretched its 13-point halftime lead to 16, 35-19, after Jessica Adair made a couple free throws. Xavier would wake up though and mounted a 17-7 run over the next 7:40 to close the game to six points, 39-33, when Harris made a lay-up at the 11:40 mark. Harris keyed the run with five points and April Phillips chipped in with four points during the spurt. That was as close as the Musketeers would get though as GW answered with a game-changing 15-2 run over the next 5:40 and seized a commanding 54-35 lead at the six-minute mark. The Musketeers showed some fight down the stretch, ending the game on an 11-2 run to close the final margin to 10 points. XU out-rebounded the sizeable GW frontline by a 40-to-39 margin and 14 of XU's 18 buckets came via the assist. The Musketeers led 5-4 after Ta'Shia Phillips connected on a lay-up 4:50 into the game. XU would go cold though as the team was only able to muster two field goals over the next 11:50. GW would take advantage, seizing a 25-10 lead on the strength of a 21-5 run, which was capped with an Antelia Parrish free throw at the 3:40 mark. Xavier would close the gap to 11 points, 27-16, when Harris converted on an old-fashioned 3-point play with under one-minute remaining.
