Nicole Like enters her eighth year as Director of Basketball Operations for her alma mater, and the program has come a long way since her playing days as a Musketeer ended in 1995.

Like handles many of the day-to-day administrative details for the team, including travel and community service efforts in her role as the D.B.O.

"Nicole has a wide range of experience to offer us. In addition, she has an appreciation for Xavier University and the women's basketball program here, and she is excited to be affiliated with the school once again," said coach McGuff. "I am very glad to have her with us."

Like came to Xavier after serving as an assistant coach during the 2002-03 season on the staff of former Xavier assistant coach Maria Fantanarosa at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.

Prior to working with the RedHawks, Like got her start in coaching by serving as an assistant coach at Milford High School in suburban Cincinnati.

Like is a licensed nurse, and worked in that capacity before turning to coaching at Miami. She has worked at the Tri-Health Fitness Pavilion and Queen City Sports Medicine in Cincinnati and at Sports Care in Toledo, Ohio.

In her first year out of school, Like worked for the Cincinnati Reds as the first female member of the team's grounds crew.

While a student at Xavier, Like worked as a student trainer.

In addition, Like was a member of the Musketeer basketball team. As a player, Like started 63 times in 83 career games. She averaged 5.5 points and 3.2 assists per game in her career, and is 10th all-time in school history with 262 career assists.

A three-time member of the Midwestern Collegiate Conference All-Academic Team, Like was named to the GTE Academic All-American Team in 1994. That same year she won the Wilma Rudolph Courage Award from the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Women's Sports Association for her successful return to playing after two knee surgeries.

Like was a member of Xavier's first-ever NCAA Tournament team in 1993.

The 35-year-old Like resides in Cincinnati.
