Maureen Hester is entering her third season as the women's basketball director of operations for the 2012-13 season under head coach Amy Waugh.
"Maureen knows this program very well, and was a great representative of Xavier as a player," Waugh commented. "I know she will be very enthusiastic in her work to grow the program, in particular in support of the athletic department's great marketing efforts."
Hester was a four-year letter winner as a member of the XU women's basketball team from 2006-10 and earned a bachelor's degree in sports administration with a business minor. She played in 82 career games, starting 34 times as a Musketeer.
"Xavier is a very special place to me and I am very grateful for this opportunity to start my career at my alma mater," said Hester. "I am incredibly excited to join coach Waugh's staff to help continue the tradition of excellence. I look forward to helping our student-athletes succeed both academically and athletically."
During the 2010-11 season, Hester served as an assistant girls basketball coach at Cincinnati's Turpin High School and also worked within the XU athletic department as a marketing staff intern. She graduated from Xavier in May 2011 with a master's degree in business administration.
