Bryce McKey recently wrapped up his third season as an assistant women's basketball coach at Xavier University and his first under head coach Brian Neal.

McKey came to Xavier prior to the 2011-12 season after serving as the associate head coach at Hathaway Brown High School in Shaker Heights, Ohio, for three seasons (2008-11). He helped lead the team to three consecutive Division II Ohio State Championships (2009, 2010, 2011), the first three basketball state championships in school history. His squads posted an overall record of 61-19 in three years at HBHS. During his time at Hathaway Brown, McKey was in charge of defense and post-player development as well as opponent scouts.

"Bryce has a great deal of experience developing talent, and has produced great results throughout his career," commented Waugh. "He's very well respected and I look forward to adding his work ethic, passion and energy to our program."

He also served as head coach of Sports City U AAU where his team was nationally ranked as a Top 10 Travel Team by ESPN Hoopgurlz in both his seasons at the helm. His squad compiled an overall record of 48-3.

McKey served as the coordinator and assistant camp director for the Ohio Girls Basketball Report, the top-ranked single-state scouting service in the country. With OGBR, McKey was responsible for the coordination and operation of OGBR Skills Camp, the Top 64 Fall Showcase and the Classic in the Country high school tournament.

Prior to his time at Hathaway Brown High School and Sports City U, McKey was a varsity assistant and freshman head coach at Lake High School in Uniontown, Ohio, for two years. While at Lake, McKey helped the varsity team combine for its first back-to-back winning seasons in two decades and led the freshman squad to two consecutive conference championships. During his time at Lake, McKey also coached the Midwest Warriors men's AAU team, compiling an overall record of 81-14 over his three seasons as head coach.

"From the moment I stepped foot on Xavier's campus, I knew it was a special place to be," said McKey. "I believe in the vision that coach Waugh and Mr. Bobinski have for the women's basketball program and I cannot wait to be a part of the Xavier community."

McKey graduated from Malone University in 2008 with a bachelor's degree in education.
