Men's Tennis Starts Play At Tennessee Invitational

CINCINNATI - The Xavier men's tennis team will take its entire team to this weekend's Tennessee Invitational held at Barksdale Stadium. Xavier will have all 11 of its players represented in the tournaments three singles draws and eight doubles draws.
Other schools competing include Tennessee, Penn State, Louisville, Chattanooga, Tennessee Tech, Winthrop, Alcorn, Southern Miss, Wright State, USC Upstate, Eastern Kentucky, Dayton and Western Michigan.
Juniors Jimmy Roebker and Mesa Mei, senior Brandon MacDonald and freshman Zack Mueck will all play in the top singles flight. Senior Patrick Bandy, sophomore Michael Moe and freshman Adam Krull are slotted in the second singles flight. Freshmen Brian Carman and Robert Torsch, sophomore Freddy Abunku and senior Philip Diaz are in the final singles draw.
Roebker and Mei, who went 20-7 in doubles play last year, are teamed together in the top doubles flight. Bandy and Diaz join forces to play in the second-tier doubles draw. Other pairings include MacDonald/Mueck, Krull/Moe and Abunku/Carman. Torsch will play doubles with Taylor Patrick from Tennessee.
