INDIANAPOLIS, IN-- After dropping the first two singles matches of the day, Xavier never looked back as they went onto defeat IUPUI, 5-2, in the season opener. The Musketeers move to 1-0 on the season as IUPUI drops to 0-1.

Xavier got going when junior Brent Lehting (Columbus, OH/Bexley) defeated freshman Juan Mas in straight set, 6-1, 6-1. The rest of the Musketeers went on to win their matches in straight sets. In doubles action, juniors Christian Lovelace (orcharch Park, NY/Orchard Park) and Scott Troplett (louisville, KY/St. Xavier) defeated junior Matt Fowler and freshman Zach Breneman, 8-3.

The Musketeers swing back into action this weekend at the Bowling Green Invitational.
