Men's Tennis Hoping To Take Winning Ways Into Hawaii

CINCINNATI - The Xavier men's tennis team takes its nine-match winning streak to the island of O'ahu where the Musketeers will face Hawaii Pacific and Hawaii during their spring break trip.

The Musketeers (9-1, 1-0 Atlantic 10) defeated Butler to earn their first league victory and continue one of the best starts in program history. In those nine matches Xavier has only lost one singles match.

Xavier plays Hawaii Pacific at 9 a.m. HT on Wednesday and Hawaii at the UH Tennis Complex beginning at 2 p.m. HT on Thursday.

Junior Mesa Mei remains undefeated in singles action this year and sports a 10-0 record, with the majority of victories coming at the No. 2 singles spot. Junior Jimmy Roebker is 8-1 this year atop the Musketeer lineup.

As a team Xavier is 52-8 in dual singles matches this year. In doubles play the Musketeers are 22-5.

The Sea Warriors are only the Div. II team the Musketeers will face this season. Hawaii Pacific is 2-0 on the season having picked up two 9-0 wins.

Hawaii is 2-4 overall and is coming off a pair of losses to San Diego State and Pacific. Jared Spiker has the best singles record for the Rainbow.
