CINCINNATI - Xavier's Jimmy Roebker's sizzling start to his junior campaign and victories in singles and doubles play last weekend earned him the Atlantic 10 Performer of the Week honor from the league office.

It is the first award of the year for Roebker and the fourth overall for the Musketeers who are 8-1 overall and earned a win in their first league match of the year last weekend.

Roebker won his seventh-consecutive match by defeating Duquesne's Rich Robbie 6-3, 7-5 at the No. 1 position in Xavier's only match last week. It was the fourth-straight two-set win for Roebker who is 7-1 in singles play this year. His only loss came to the nation's top player Peter Kobelt of Ohio State.

He also earned a win at the No. 1 doubles with his regular partner junior Mesa Mei. The two won 8-4 over Peter Carpenter and Alex Aleman. It was Roebker's seventh-straight doubles win and sixth with Mei.

Roebker adds his third-career performer of the week title to goes along with his two rookie of the week honors that he earned in 2011.

This season Xavier has won four league awards. Mei was the co-performer of the week and Xavier's freshman Zach Mueck and Adam Krull were named the rookie of the week this season.

Roebker and the Musketeers host Butler at 1 p.m. at the Mercy Fairfield HealthPlex.
