CINCINNATI - Xavier's Mesa Mei's heroic start to his senior year with clutch victories in singles and doubles competition, this past weekend, has earned him BIG EAST Player of the Week Honors.

It is the first award of the year for Mei as well as the first for the Musketeers who now stand at 2-3 on the spring season since their move to the BIG EAST.

Overall, Mei went 3-0 in singles competition and 2-1 in doubles competition to assist the Musketeers in capturing two very big wins against Bryant and Binghamton. He is now is riding a three-match win streak in singles and sits at an individual record of 3-2 on the season.

With this achievement, it marks Mei's third Player of the Week accolade in his career at Xavier. Prior to this year he received Atlantic 10 Conference Player of the Week in both his sophomore and junior campaigns.
