Men's Tennis To Open Up Their Spring Season Against Ohio State

CINCINNATI - The Xavier men's tennis team will return to the court after nearly a three-month leave to open up its 2014 schedule against top perennial opponent, Ohio State on Wednesday, Jan. 22nd. Match play will begin at 6 PM at Ohio State¹s indoor tennis facility in the squad¹s first dual match of the year.

The Musketeers will have all players returning from their 2013 fall season and will look to pick up from where they left off in great fashion. Among the returning players are sophomore standout Adam Krull and seniors Mesa Mei and Jimmy Roebker.

In addition to those stellar performers on the tennis courts, Freddy Abunku, Matt Bishop, Brian Carman, Michael Moe, Zach Mueck, Rob Torsch and Jeremy Schneider will also be returning.

Krull had an impressive display on the courts during the fall season with a 5-3 record in singles competition and a 2-2 record when paired up in doubles. Mei also had a good showing three months back with a 6-4 record in singles play and a 2-2 record in doubles. Lastly, Jimmy Roebker finished his fall season with a 4-5 record in singles and a 2-2 record in doubles.

During the fall tournament season, the Musketeers mustered a 31-45 record in singles competition and a 16-30 record in doubles competition.The Musketeers look to improve upon this record with their entry into the new season and BIG EAST campaign in the weeks to come! Lets Go X!
