CINCINNATI - Juniors Jimmy Roebker and Mesa Mei became the second Xavier men's tennis doubles partners to earn a nationally ranking in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Men's National Doubles Ranking released on Friday.
Roebker, native of Ft. Mitchell, Ky., and Mei, a Somerville, Mass. native, are ranked 55th in the first 2013 poll. Their ranking makes them the highest ranked doubles team in Xavier history.
The two players joined forces last year for the Musketeers and racked up an impressive 20-7 record when playing together. Included in last year's season were a 15-6 record at the number one doubles position and a season-best seven-match winning streak at the tail end of the season. The duo lost only one match in Atlantic 10 doubles competition.
So far this season the twosome has a 3-2 record and won three-straight matches to begin the season.
Xavier will face fourth-ranked Ohio State to begin the 2013 schedule on Jan. 16. The Musketeers open the 2013 home schedule on Jan. 18 against Cleveland State at Eastern Hills Indoor Tennis Club.
