Day 2 Results

MUNCIE, Ind. -- Xavier freshman Mesa Mei advanced to the White Flight finals at the Ball State Invitational as the Musketeers completed their second day of competition. Mei defeated Marquette’s Jose Munoz 6-1, 6-4 in the flight semifinals.

Senior Bobby Deye will face Ball State’s Dalton Albertin in the Singles A Flight as he defeated Marquette’s Dan Mamalat 7-6, 6-1 in the semifinals.

The duo of Deye and Brian Starr won the doubles Flight A consolation competition, advancing to the finals with an 8-4 win in the semifinal round.

It will be an all-Xavier final in the doubles Flight B competition as the duo of Philip Diaz and Brandon MacDonald will face the tandem of Richard Canelas and Marc Pretorius Sunday.

XU will look to bring home several flight championships tomorrow as the Musketeers concluder play at Ball State.
