Men's Tennis Wraps Up Purdue Invitational
Sept. 22, 2013
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -Despite impressive play during the first two days of the Purdue Invitational, the Musketeers were not able to keep the streak going this morning. Men's tennis lost their only two non-consolation matches putting an early end to their tennis filled weekend.
Junior Michael Moe put on quite a performance over the last two days before being defeated by Western Michigan's Rube Greiner in a tough 3 set battle, with scores of, 2-6, 6-3, 6-3. Moe later sought revenge for his loss by playing doubles with Matt Bishop. However, luck was not in their favor as University of Iowa's Michael Swank and Joey White won the match with an, 8-4 score. Junior Freddy Abunku was the only musketeers to get a win today, defeating Joe Van Meter of Cleveland State, 6-4, 6-7, 1-0(7).
Although play was spectacular this weekend for the men's tennis team, the Musketeers will look to improve as they prepare themselves for the ITA All-American Championships next weekend in Tulsa, Okla.
