Men's Tennis Completes First Day Of Purdue Invitational
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -Earlier this morning, the men's tennis team packed their Xavier gear and traveled to Purdue University to partake in their second fall schedule tournament. Not many games were assigned for the musketeers but the ones that were, could be titled as ferocious battles.
In singles play, junior Michael Moe defeated Cleveland State's Manuel Bellutti in two sets of, 7-5. Redshirt freshman Matt Bishop followed in the junior's footsteps by also winning his match with the following, 6-4 and 7-5, scores.
In doubles competition, the musketeers couldn't gather a win in play however, Matt Bishop and Michael Moe as well as Brian Carman and Rob Torsch received byes for their first round of play.
Competition will resume at 8 in the morning and continue until 7 p.m. Two rounds of singles and 2 rounds of doubles will be played tomorrow.
