MASON, Ohio-- The No. 2 Xavier men's tennis team advanced to the semifinals of the Atlantic 10 tournament in commanding fashion with a 4-0 win over the No. 10 seed Dayton Friday at the Lindner Family Tennis Center.
"Today's win was great in that we played well and were very efficient in victory," said XU head coach Eric Toth. "Anytime you can win quickly in a conference tournament I feel it's a benefit to you as you continue through the event. We look forward to taking on another quality opponent tomorrow and will be prepared for a good fight."
Junior Brandon MacDonaldtook down Rober Salcedo 6-0, 6-1 in the No. 4 singles match. Pretorius rolled Joe West 6-3, 6-0 in the No. 6 match, and Roebker sealed the win with a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 1.
Xavier faces the winner of the No. 6 seed Richmond and No. 3 Duquesne Saturday at 2 p.m.
