CINCINNATI -- The Xavier men's tennis team picked up its seventh straight win and improved to 4-0 in the Atlantic 10 with a 6-1 victory over conference rival Dayton Wednesday afternoon. With the win, XU improved to 12-8 overall.

"Our guys played another really solid match today," said XU head coach Eric Toth. "Dayton is a program that has really improved, fought us hard today, and really tested us. I really like how our team keeps making progress from match to match. We have one more important hurdle on Friday against Saint Louis where we really need to come out and compete and play well as we head into next weekend's A-10 tournament. It is also Senior Day where we will honor two great people in Richard Canelas and Marc Pretorius."

Pretorius was one of five Musketeers who picked up singles wins against the Flyers when he earned a 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 6. Sophomore Jimmy Roebker earned a comeback three-set win (2-6, 6-1, 6-4) over Aidan Koross at No. 1.

Pretorius teamed with Canelas for an 8-3 win over Joe West and Robert Salcedo at No. 2 doubles.

Xavier will look to close out the regular season with a perfect slate in conference play when the Musketeers host Saint Louis Friday, April 6 at 3 p.m. at the Lunken Playfield courts.
