Men's Tennis Capture Tenth Win At Home

CINCINNATI - The Xavier men's tennis team kept its home winning streak intact by sweeping the Raiders of Wright State, 7-0.

Seniors Jimmy Roebker and Mesa Mei led by example, in singles, by each knocking off their opponents in dominating fashion. Roebker (8-11) obtained his victory by default after injury ceased play. Mei (13-6) edged off Michal Lyzwa 6-1, 6-2. Junior Freddy Abunku (7-5) defeated James Trevino 6-4, 6-3. Sophomores Zach Mueck and Adam Krull also respectively earned big wins, defeating their opponents to help improve the Musketeers to 10-9 record on the season.

In doubles, Krull and Schneider defeated Mason Bourbon and Kurill Kultinov, 8-2. Matt Bishop and Mueck also captured a win against Aaron Madaris and James Trevino with a score of 8-1.

"We have a big week this week and it was nice to start it off with a win." Head Coach Eric Toth stated. "We look forward to playing well and hopefully earning our first BIG EAST win on Friday. Georgetown will undoubtedly present a challenge. Their guys appear to compete well and we will need to bring it from start to finish."

With stellar play, April 2nd, the Musketeers improve to a perfect 4-0 when playing at home.
