FAIRFIELD, Ohio -- The Xavier men's tennis team picked up its fourth straight win with a 5-2 victory over Wright State Wednesday at the Mercy Healthplex of Fairfield.

"We beat a very good Wright State team today," said assistant coach Doug Matthews. "We won a tough doubles point and started the singles well. To beat good teams you have to be focused the entire match and I felt that we did a good job of that today."

XU took the doubles point and rallied for four victories in singles.

Jimmy Roebker topped Martin Arguello 6-2, 6-3 at No. 1 and fellow sophomore Mesa Mei earned a 7-6, 6-4 win at No. 2. Brandon MacDonald and Marc Pretorius each picked up wins at No. 4 and No. 6 to seal the win.

With the victory, XU improved to 9-8 overall and will host St. Bonaventure Friday at 3 p.m. at the Lunken Playfield courts.
