O'FALLON, Ill. - After an unfavorable result to begin the contest the Xavier men's tennis team bounced back to win all singles matches and earned a 6-1 victory over Saint Louis on Friday evening at the St. Clair Tennis Club.

The Musketeers have yet to drop an Atlantic 10 match this spring and improved to 6-0 against league foes and to 14-3 overall. The victory came after Xavier lost just its second doubles point of the year.

"We really responded well in singles after getting off to a little of a slow start in doubles," head coach Eric Toth said. "We'll enjoy this one for a bit and get back to work next week to get ready for Louisville on Thursday."

Xavier's only challenge in singles play came at the No. 2 position where Mesa Mei played to a third-set against Patrick Kella. The five other singles matches went in straight sets including a sixth-straight victory for Brandon MacDonald, the Musketeers' all-time singles leader.

The doubles point loss was the first since XU lost to No. 4 Ohio State on Jan. 16 to start the season.

The Musketeers and Cardinals (9-9) are set to square off beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center in Louisville.
