DAYTON, Ohio - The Xavier men's tennis team turned its attention back to Atlantic 10 action on Saturday and defeated conference foe Dayton, 7-0, at the Five Season Sports Club.
The Musketeers (11-2, 3-0 Atlantic 10) captured their eighth sweep of the season as they enter a home match with Richmond on Monday afternoon. The Flyers fall to 2-9 overall and 0-2 in league play.
"It is nice to get an A-10 win and do so against one of our rivals," said Eric Toth. "We'll need another strong performance on Monday against a good Richmond team to keep things going in the right direction."
Xavier snagged the doubles point to begin the match and won five singles match in straight sets.
Freshman Adam Krull stretched his winning streak to 11 dispatching of his opponent at the No. 5 singles position. Senior Brandon MacDonald, junior Mesa Mei and freshman Zach Mueck improved to 9-1 in their last 10 matches with wins on Saturday.
The Musketeers took all three doubles victories with Mei and Roebker in addition to Moe and Mueck pulling out close contests.
Xavier will face the Spiders beginning at 1 p.m. at the Mercy Fairfield HealthPlex.
