In Clash With St. Joseph's Musketeers Lay A Pounding

CINCINATTI, OH - The men's tennis team opened up its weekend play in Pennsylvania, Pa., by laying a pounding on the St. Joseph's Hawks 7-0.

All musketeers that participated in play received impressive wins by dismantling each of their foes with skilled tactical play.

Mesa Mei received his win by knocking off Jose Sierra in two sets 6-1, 6-3. Zach Mueck, and Jimmy Roebker also finished their matches in consecutive sets defeating their St. Joseph's opponents. Adam Krull, Freddy Abunku, and Jeremy Schneider, each took their matches into three tough tie-breaking sets but were fortunately able to receive individual wins.

In doubles, Mei and Roebker improved their record to 5-1 after edging off Dan Barrus and Jose Sierra 6-2. Brian Carman and Mueck also teamed up to win, captivating a 6-4 set and claiming a well deserved victory against St. Joseph's.

"Even though our execution could have consistently been better tonight," Assistant Coach Doug Matthews stated, "it was nice that we did win the bigger points throughout the match to pick up another win."

The Musketeers will look to improve upon their record against Temple Feb. 15. Match play will be begin at 7:00 p.m.
