CINCINNATI -- The Xavier men's tennis team defended its home court Saturday night as it rallied to defeat Austin Peay 4-3. With the win, the Musketeers improved to 2-5 on the season while the Governors fell to 3-2.
"This was a win we needed and I am happy for our guys," said XU head coach Eric Toth. "We were down 3-1 and needed everyone to win and were fortunate enough to do so. Austin Peay is a solid squad and they compete very well. This win will give us some confidence heading into a big week coming up for us."
The Musketeers dropped the doubles point and were down 3-1 when they began a rally in singles play. Junior Patrick Bandy defeated Joao Pagan 6-3, 6-3 in the No. 5 match.
