Men's Tennis Knocks Off IUPUI In First Home Opener

CINCINNATI, OH - The Xavier men's tennis team had a very strong showing in their first home opener of the season crushing IUPUI with a score of, 6-1.
All Musketeers in participation held their own managing to string together big wins for Xavier.
In singles, Mesa Mei handed Jason Juravang a loss after defeating him in three sets 3-6, 6-3, 10-5. Jimmy Roebker bounced back after three match losing skid to knock off Alex Toliver 7-5, 7-6(3). Zach Mueck claimed a victory coming off a two-match skid defeating Jacob Bradley 6-1, 6-2. Matt Bishop and Jeremy Schneider also received critical wins.
In doubles Xavier completed an entire sweep edging off all three of IUPUI's doubles teams. With wins the musketeers improve to an overall record of 12-9 in doubles play for the season.
"I'm really pleased with the guys effort and performance again tonight." Head Coach Eric Toth stated. "I'm sure we are all a little tired from yesterday's matches, but everyone did a great job of weathering through any fatigue to get the job done against an IUPUI team that competes well. We'll get a well-deserved day off tomorrow before getting back to work on Monday to prepare for next week's matches in Philadelphia."
