As a Senior (2008-09): Earned his second straight selection as Atlantic 10 Conference Most Outstanding Performer, leading the Musketeers to their second straight league title and NCAA Tournament berth while playing Flight 1 at both singles and doubles His 15-13 singles record pushed his career mark to 75-47, ranking fourth all-time in program history Went 11-9 in dual meet action, playing exclusively at Flight 1 His biggest win of the season came in the semifinals of the A-10 Tournament, when he defeated his Saint Louis foe in the decisive match Paired with junior Chris Herrlinger to go 20-11 in doubles action, including 15-8 in dual meets, all coming at the Flight 1 level Pushed his career doubles mark to 75-52, which ranks second in program history Career overall record of 150-99 ranks second in program history for overall victories Finished the fall season with a record of 5-4 in singles play and 5-3 in doubles play In doubles play at the Hoosier Invitational, Matthews and Herrlinger finished third Participated in the 2008 D'Novo/ITA All-American Championship. As a Sophomore (2006-07): Named the Atlantic 10 Performer of the Week March 26 after back-to-back wins over St. Bonaventure's Alejandro Nery and Temple's Nathan Spunda...Earned A-10 First Team All-Conference honors...Compiled an 18-15 overall singles record, including a 13-11 dual match mark playing at No. 1...Paired with Jeremy Miller at the one-spot in doubles, posting a 13-10 record.
