Xavier lost in the 2012 Atlantic 10 Men's Tennis Championship final match to George Washington, 4-3.
Xavier beat Dayton 4-0 in quarterfinals of the 2012 Atlantic 10 Men's Tennis Championship in Mason, Ohio.
Xavier defeated Dayton in conference men's tennis action on Wednesday. Sophomore Jimmy Roebker won at No. 1 for the Musketeers and took his doubles match as well.
As a Senior (2011-12): Wrapped up his career at Xavier with a 12-19 singles record and 22-11 when playing as a doubles partner ... Spent much of the year playing from the No. 3 singles position picking up seven wins ... Longest winning streak was three during the fall tournament portion of the schedule ... Put together a strong doubles campaign with partner Marc Pretorius ... The pair went 18-9 together and won 10-straight matches to close out the year ... The duo went 12-4 playing from the No. 2 doubles position and had a perfect 6-0 record in conference matches ... Reached two separate doubles flight finals during the fall tournament season.
As a Junior (2010-2011): Finished the fall season with an 8-7 singles record overall Did not play during the 2011 dual match season.
As a Sophomore (2009-10:) Second team All-Conference Earned a 3-7 record during the 2009 fall tournament season Advanced to the third round of the Hoosier Flight at the IU Invitational Finished the 2010 campaign with a 12-23 overall mark including a 9-16 singles record in 2010 Played all of his 2010 singles matches at the No. 2 position.
As A Freshman (2008-09): Posted a 20-19 singles record in his first season with the Musketeers, with his 20 wins ranking second on the team Won his Flight 4 match against St. Bonaventure in the Atlantic 10 Conference championship to clinch XU's second straight league title Named Atlantic 10 Conference Rookie of the Week on 1/26 after winning his Flight 3 match against Western Michigan in straight sets Was most successful in the Flight 3 slot, posting a 5-1 record Went 6-6 in doubles action, paired with four different partners Was most successful when paired with fellow freshman Marc Pretorius, as the duo went 3-1 in the fall Finished the fall season with a 10-6 singles record and a 6-6 doubles record He finished 3rd in the Crimson flight of the Hoosier Invitational In doubles at the Louisville Invitational, Canelas and Pretorius finished second in the "C" Flight.
