Hagglund Earns Spot On Atlantic 10 All-Championship Team
Nov. 11, 2012
CINCINNATI - Xavier defender Nick Hagglund was named to his second-career Atlantic 10 All-Championship Team following the conclusion of the league's title match on Sunday.
The junior from Cincinnati and league's defensive player of the year also earned a spot during the Musketeers' title run in 2010.
His newest honor goes along with an already impressive list that includes back-to-back A-10 First Team selections and a spot on this year's MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List. Hagglund is one of the best headers and has two goals and four assists this season.
Xavier's bid at a third-straight A-10 postseason title came to an end on Friday after a 1-0 loss to eventual champion Saint Louis in the semifinal match. The Musketeers earned a penalty kick shootout against Dayton in the quarterfinal.
The Musketeers (13-2-5, 6-1-2 A-10) chance at reaching a third-straight NCAA Tournament will be determined on Monday at 5:30 p.m. with the airing of the men's soccer selection show.
