Spencer Adds Atlantic 10 Player Of The Week To Honors

CINCINNATI - Senior forward Luke Spencer of the Xavier men's soccer team has been named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week for the second time this season following a two-goal, three-assist performance in the Musketeers' victories last weekend.
Spencer led an offensive attack that scored 11 goals against Rhode Island and Massachusetts over the weekend. This is the fourth-career honor for Spencer who was the A-10 POW on Sept. 3 an d earned two other co-awards in 2010 and 2011.
The local Cincinnati product scored one goal in each of this week's victories for the Musketeers. He had the game-winning goal and two assists against Rhode Island on Friday (Nov. 2). He finished the regular season tied for the league lead with 13 goals, six assists and 32 points. He has four game-winning goals on the year, the second most in the league.
He was also chosen as the TopDrawerSoccer.com National Player of the Week. It is the first national player award on his career and the third national team he has been named to this season.
Spencer was also named the College Sports Madness National Offensive Player of the Week. It is the second time he has earned a weekly award from CSM.
