CINCINNATI - Junior midfielder Matt Walker was rewarded for his three-goal performance last weekend for the Xavier men's soccer team by being named the College Sports Madness Atlantic 10 Player of the Week.

Walker scored the lone goal against VCU on Friday and returned to score twice against Richmond on Sunday afternoon. His two goals on Sunday mark the second time he has tallied a two-goal match this season.

For the season the Batavia, Ohio native has seven goals and eight assists. He currently is ranked fourth in the conference in points per game and fifth in total points. Furthermore he ranks. He is listed in the top 20 in both totals assists and assists per game.

Walker joins his brother Will Walker, Luke Spencer and Justin Marshall to be named the A-10 Player of the Week by Madness.

Nationally-ranked Xavier returns to the pitch this weekend as it closes out the regular season with home matches against Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
